Peter Parente
will visit your school
as much more than an author. Peter will read one
or more of his books and speak about writing,
publishing, and inspiration as well as promote
conservation and a new found love for animals.
You will meet the real Peeper the kinkajou and
Maggie the 2-toed sloth and learn about their
unique characteristics and their need for our
help in the rainforest. The presentations are
30-45 minutes and customized to age groups and
work best in 2-3 groups depending on the size
of the school. K-2, 3-5 or K-1, 2-3, 4-5. Pre-K
can be separate or part of the younger grades.
Peeper & Friends has created
a fee scale that allows the publisher and school
to work together with a goal of raising money
for your school through book sales. We will provide
an order form to pre-order personally signed books
and ask for the total number ordered 30 days prior
to the visit along with the names that the books
will be dedicated to.
- Peter Parente may make his
living as an author but doesn't do it strictly
for the money. He created his series to promote
education and conservation while understanding
that budgets fluctuate throughout the country.
You can contact him directly at (305) 744-0330
or info@peeperandfriends.com to negotiate fees.
- If this is for an underprivileged
school we can work with other organizations
to attempt to fund the event for your school.
- Morning visits can start
as early as desired and need to be finished
by around 11:30.
- Afternoon presentations
can start at 1:30 and need to be finished by
around 4:00.
*It is recommended to book an event 3 months
in advance.
*Traveling with the animals is not an easy task
so scheduling several appearances in the same
school district works best.
BIO
Peter Parente
has created this charming
series, which was inspired by his kinkajou Peeper,
to help educate children about unique creatures
and their characteristics. The stories are designed
to instill in children an appreciation for nature
because the only hope for some of our ecosystems'
survival is in our children who are our future.
Peter utilizes all of his animals in the series
to teach many other moral lessons as well as to
provide pure reading enjoyment for adults and
children.
Peter has had many years of
experience working with exotics and educating
others on the care and handling of these animals.
He has taken all of his experience and utilizes
his books and real animals as educational tools
for his presentations that he provides for schools,
zoos, and various other groups to help bring to
our attention the needs for conservation around
the world. He currently works with the Wild Life
Rescue, Turtle Kraals, and The Dolphin Research
Center in his hometown of Key West and raises
funds for several other non-profit organizations
as well as all of the schools, zoos, and children's
groups he visits.
After high school Peter joined
the Marine Corps and immediately tried out and
became Marine Reconnaissance. By the time he was
honorably discharged he was meritoriously promoted,
highly decorated, and became a chief instructor
training the most elite proving that age and rank
took a second place to respect for hard work.
The next step in life after the need for adventure
was fulfilled was to be a successful businessman.
Over the next six years Peter became a top producing
stock broker and investment banker that earned
a reputation as being one man who could motivate
a whole sales force by leading by example. One
day when realizing that he missed the action of
the Marines and wanted to help people again he
started a private investigation agency, Sensitive
Operations Group (www.soginv.com), comprised of
prior military special operatives which he still
owns. Peter has always had an extreme love for
nature and the final step to fulfillment in his
life was to make a difference in the world. Feeling
that the best way he could make a difference in
the future was to teach children so he created
Peeper & Fiends to be the voice for those
who can't speak. Today he lives his dream as he
always has.
